History

Switcher: an original idea

Back in 1981, Robin Cornelius was an economics student at the University of Lausanne when he created MABROUC SA (today Switcher SA) to distribute the Switcher and Whale brands.

Located in Le Mont-sur-Lausanne, the company and its two brands occupy 100 collaborators working in spacious accommodation (over 10'000 m2; 8500 m2 of warehousing and 1600 m2 of offices).

And the Switcher concept ?

It is clear, playful, and colourful: low-priced garments with simple lines for relaxed comfort and made from excellent quality materials. The Switcher collections are regularly enriched with new models of easy-to-wear clothes in distinctive colours: T-shirts,sweatshirts, sportswear, shirts, windbreakers and accessories.

Starting from the realization that consumers in a fragmented market are increasingly looking for a social, qualitative and ecological justification for their purchases, Switcher favours a global approach based on close management of the channel from producer to distributor to consumer. Adopting this approach, the simple and original Switcher concept delivers optimal performance in three respects :

  • More than 400 Fashion points of sale which distribute Switcher products.
  • More than 400 Professional points of sale which distribute Switcher products
  • To retailers, Switcher guarantees a right of return that reduces their risk to the minimum. Furthermore, the Switcher retail display package ensures that their customers have an easy choice to make of clearly illustrated and labelled items presented in a uniform, easily identifiable environment, whether a partial collection in a Corner or the complete collection in a fully outfitted Shop.
  • To wholesalers and printers, who account for more than half of the company's turnover, Switcher guarantees permanent availability of stock.
  • To the consumer, whose lifestyle and needs are constantly changing, Switcher provides a vast choice of styles and colours that are fun, comfortable and easy to mix and match.
  • To the 80' 000 Switcher Friends (Customer relationship programme) which regularly profit from very attractive promotions in the shops.·
  • To the supply chain with which Switcher maintains very close relationships
