CO2 compensation must begin now
Climate change is an immediate problem ! That is why Switcher wishes to begin climate neutralisation for at least some of its products right now and launches 14 climate-neutral products in March 2007.
Experience enables us to estimate the cost of reducing, e.g. one tonne of CO2: a project which reduces one tonne of CO2 each year receives around CHF 25.- today for doing so in the international climate trade, as long as this is proven to be a sustainable project from which the local population also benefits.
With the sale of half a million garments, climate protection projects leading to the reduction of around 2700 tonnes of CO2generated at the production stage could be financed in other countries.
